Brilliantly Brilliant

I am seriously sorry Luke, I thought I left a review when this first came out. I checked through and it said I didn't. I'm super confused.

ANYWAYS NOW ON TO THE REIVEW.

As far as the art goes, I love the line style. By that I mean, you didn't stick with black instead you used a shade of gray. It gives a completely different and unique atmosphere to the cartoon. I honestly love it and may steal that from you at some point.

The animation was fluid for the most part, I really do love your style of animation. Like I said at some points I wish there was a little more animation, like arm or head movements. But you did this in a really short amount of time so I completely understand.

The choice of audio was also really good. It really makes me enjoy it more when you use the right amount of creepy music, and you did just that with the way you intertwined scenes with the audio track. By far my favorite part though is the dialogue between the man and wife, I honestly lol every time.

My only complaint is some scenes, like I said, I wish would have been more interesting and crazy. For example, with the scene when the demon is running through the fields, all you can see is stars disappearing. Maybe have a shot of him jump up in front of the moon? Show his eyes? Anything like that. Also when the wife is talking, the only animation is lip synch and her arm pulling back the curtain.

Are there some flaws? Of course, there aren't any flash animations without flaws. I gave it a 10 because I think it honestly deserves one. I honestly adore it because you really made it feel like a classic horror film. Some references not everyone picked up on, but I was loving. The gore scenes were just the right amount of brutal. I don't think I've ever squired before whilst watching a flash animation, so bravo on that.

Also, for those of you who close out when the credits role, wait until the very end. I seriously jumped when I saw it even though I knew it was coming.

By far your best cartoon man, keep up the good work.

Fucking Brilliant

The comedy was genius, and dark at times. I couldn't get enough of it, the sarcasm and obvious satire at times was brilliant.

The art was very pleasing to look at, and the animation always smooth and enjoyable. The selected artists for this was a perfect choice. I don't know where the fuck you got this idea Will, but it's honestly one of the best things I've ever seen on Newgrounds. I'm also really happy with the length, although some people complained about it being to long.

They probably weren't expecting it to be that long, not that it is to long. I thought it was the perfect length and at the end wished there were more. I laughed out loud at the ending gag with the animals. I also fucking hate my voice in Hans's part, I can't believe Hans let me do it and you let my voice in.

Seriously great, this is a pivotal point in the history of Newgrounds-no-mankind. Bravo to everyone who participated in this work from God.

No, but really, very good. For being 2 years old this is still actually really good. The scene flowed together beautifully, the scenes with clouds always looked good, and I actually laughed out loud a few times.

By the way why didn't you just ask me for a CAR alarm instead of an alarm lol.

You Can Do Better, Max.

I just can't watch your cartoons anymore.

I mean, don't get me wrong, your animation is smooth and looks good. Your microphone is completely fine. You have what it takes to make quality.

For some reason, you don't.

The characters haven't developed. You basically describe ALL of the characters in the theme song, and they haven't developed since. The characters are static and get stale very quickly. While it is interesting to see the characters interact with each other, NOTHING knew happens in the episodes.

Think of Kyle and Cartman in South Park. Cartman is always a dick. But there are moments where they step outside of that generic behavior and do other things. They have also had a few "bonding" moments. The characters also develop in that show. Think about ANY cartoon show. Watch the first episode, and the most recent episodes. The characters change a lot.

I would also appreciate your sense of humor if you didn't think you were the funniest person alive. I'll admit, you have comedic timely down nicely, but I can't watch your cartoons anymore with your narcissistic thoughts budging in and interrupting it. I heard you saying this over your podcast, and other times.

You also making Mickey the Dick a dick got old very fast. I know being a dick is funny, but it's just YOU trying to say something and get your message across to people without offending them, and saying "ITS NOT ME ITS MICKEY!"

This was very obvious and stood out about why Mickey hasn't left yet. How is that a retarded question? I think it's a great question. Don't call people retarded for asking a question your series has yet to answer, because again, the same thing happens in every episode. In the theme song, it claims Mickey is planning a "devious escape" when we haven't seen him even ATTEMPT to leave.

So you acting all pissy, and like you were right and knew it all along was really annoying. In the "Robert Burglass" episode, Mickey says He works from "9-5" and he wasn't working on the Sabbath. Now, does he live at VGV? I'm sure you're going to say yes now, and that he did all along, because you're never wrong.

I said the animation was good, and I stay adamant about that, but you've recycled the same backgrounds and graphics over and over. I think you re-drew Mickey's head one time. And the paper crumpling animation looked good the first time I saw it, but after the 4th I was sick of it.

The thing that irritates me most is you HAVE talent. But it seems you don't care anymore. You KNOW you can make an episode where they talk for 5 minutes and it shows the same background, and still get 10s. You know you don't have to try anymore, and for some reason, you don't. You even admitted you were going to make a BioShock parody where it's black the entire episode.

If this were submitted by anyone else, it would get a 10. But you can do much better than this, and you and I both know it. I know this review will probably get marked as abusive, but I'm honestly trying to give you constructive criticism. I know I would appreciate this review more than a 10 saying "lol".

You're getting a lot better man. I was actually just watching one of your older toons, from 2008 I think, and you've improved SO much so quickly.

The backgrounds are always gorgeous, but the most noticeable thing was the new animation style. I don't know if you re-drew the characters or what, but they looked very smooth compared to what they did previously.

The humor style has also drastically changed. I'm going to be honest, before this I more enjoyed the cartoon than laughed out loud at it. As much as I hate to say it, it was funny, but not laugh out loud funny.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this and saw the humor style changed into something a bit more mature and funny. I really lol'd for the first time watching one of your cartoons.

(It's hard to make people lol from an internet cartoon)

I also love your effects. Even on some of your really old cartoons with rougher animation, I still really admired your special effects. You really know different angles and how to make the scene look atheistically pleasing.

Animation is terrific and got my penis a bit chubby, the backgrounds were good so a round of applause to Sucho for that, and it was overall worth the watch,

Most of your parody work makes me think though, and say "Ah-see, it's funny because it's a take on how in Avatar instead of having sex with penis and vagina, they use ponytails". Amazing grasp on a parody.

Or saying that Rorsach loves animals when he in fact murders the two dogs.

You're always good with satire, but with this I feel like I missed out on a joke. If there was a deeper meaning I'll feel like an idiot. Who knows, this joke may be super complex. But it just seemed random to me. If it was-it's alright.

I understand that not every cartoon can be perfect, I just hope I didn't miss out on a deeper joke. Especially when meddling with the subject of Justin Beiber. There was so much you could of done with the joke.

The possibilities were literally endless.

I'm giving you a 10 for superb animation and sound.

Scores don't usually matter anyways they don't mean anything.

But please do correct me if there is a deeper joke.

I'm Officially Hard Michael.

Really nice job. I always love your comedy style, that sort of quick exchange for words, an awkward pause, and right as the other person is about to speak Mastermind interrupts them. It's a nice style of comedy.

I also love how the characters completely point out what's going to happen, I believe in Mastermind 4 it was that one of the men said something along the lines of "We all just sit here and when one of us answers your question you kill us."

Amazing how you can dissect YOUR OWN WORK like that. You basically doing satire OF yourself, you pull it off very nicely.

The first thing most people probably noticed when they watched this, and as you mentioned, was the style change. People are really irritating me when they take off "points" or whatever because of the new style.

Let me clarify to anyone who hasn't watched this yet-the style is DIFFERENT, not worse. I personally think this style looks a little lighter and more detailed rather than 65% of the characters being covered with shadows.

Although, I must say, that shadowing look was very suiting for Mastermind. It suited it because it was suppose to be this grim place, but you added comedy which is what really gave it it's real taste, in my opinion.

My only problem was that it was a little too short for me. I'm being a hypocrite though because I think it's annoying when people tell me it "could've been longer" because you wrote it the length you did for a reason.

Perhaps it's length has to do with the punch-line (which seems to be the case) and making it longer would completely ruin the joke.

I'll shudup now. 10/10 papa.
